Dear Golfers,
my hours have changed.
—Weekends only—
Starting July 27, 2026 I will be limiting my hours.
I'm very sorry for the inconvenience that this brings. In the future, I hope to bring back weekday hours. Thank you for your support.

CLUB REPAIRS,
TINKERING,
COACHING.

CLUB REPAIRS
Price starts at $35.
Bent or broken shafts will always need to be replaced. Shortening a club requires grip removal, and tipping requires head removal. Lengthening a club begins by removing the grip then plugging the end of the shaft with an extension. Ferrules sometimes move out of position and sometimes you just want to see something new.
Decent Golfer Tune Shop is not currently servicing Refinishes, or Restoration.
TINKERING
Prices vary.
Grips are removed by slice, or by solvent, or by air; then replaced with tape and solvent. Build-up tape can be customized. Loft & lie-angles are adjusted using a specialized vice and bar. Swing-weight is measured using a calibrated machine, then adjusted by adding weight to the head or grip end. Club audits are carefully measured to uncover the exact specs of a club.
COACHING
Video-lesson: $60 — you send me a video, and I'll send one back.

In-Person lesson: $85 — learn instructions and drills with me.

On-Course lesson: $75 + green fee — learn on-course strategy, situational coaching, even basic etiquette.

Locations are adjustable.

Note from David Ey
Welcome to Decent Golfer.
I founded Decent Golfer in late 2025 to offer structured, data-informed instruction paired with professional-grade club building for golfers serious about improving.

As a former collegiate and junior golfer from Central Texas, I continue to compete on the amateur circuit while refining my performance system.

The lessons and framework I share with students are the same ones I apply to my own swing. I treat equipment as part of the same system — something to measure, adjust, and optimize. Decent Golfer is the performance partnership between instructor and fitter all wrapped into one.

WHY CHOOSE DECENT GOLFER
QUALITY SERVICES
Decent Golfer enjoys and takes pride in offering top-quality golf club repair and tuning services, as well as affordable golf lessons. Your satisfaction and improvement are his priorities.
ABOUT ME
It was the '90s in San Antonio, TX and I was a 9 year old golfer teeing up in my very first tournament. Those nervous jitters were unforgettable and what I still chase by competing in local-am tournaments today.
